Do you like art and culture? What about enjoying modern art in an XIII century monastery? I absolutely adore СССС, Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània in Valencia. Firstly this is an absolute architectural masterpiece where you can enjoy Gothic, Renaissance and Islamic touches. The neighbourhood district El Carmen was named after this monastery. The building was listed as a National Historic Artistic Monument in 1983.
Secondly, there are always several exhibitions of modern art on, from visual to performance. The exhibitions change quite often so I am never bored when I return here. Thirdly, there is a nice courtyard surrounded by trees where you can rest and reflect on a hot sunny day. Fourthly, do not miss a Cats House at the entrance street - also a kind of masterpiece.
Last but not least, everything is absolutely free, believe it or not. Take a walk in the surrounding El Carmen district, famous for its bars, street art, and eclectic spirit.
