One of my favourite spots in Valencia is Finestra, nestled in the vibrant Russafa near the neighbourhood Mercado. It’s become a go-to destination among my friends for its perfect blend of affordability and quality. The restaurant has a laid-back ambience, featuring bench seating, communal tables, and a few charming makeshift personal tables created from old-school desks. The decor exudes an unpretentious charm and is brimming with personality.Â
The pizzas, individually priced at only 2.50 euros (except for the burrata pizza, which is closer to 6 euros), are made to order and available in normal, vegetarian, or vegan varieties. The pizza toppings remain a surprise, ultimately being left up to the decision of the skilled pizzaiolo. They do, however, accommodate any allergies. Beyond pizzas, the menu offers tempting options like salads, provolone cheese dip with bread, cured meat and cheese platters, and delectable desserts. Drunks such as wine and beer are priced at around 2 euros, alongside popular drinks like tinto de verano or Aperol spritz, further enhancing the experience.
Renowned for its outstanding value, Finestra secured a Traveller’s Choice Award from TripAdvisor in 2023, attesting to its appeal to both visitors and locals alike. Evenings see the restaurant bustling with Valencian residents seeking a satisfying meal or a refreshing drink without breaking the bank.
