Though Port Saplaya in Valencia is often called "Little Venice" or "Venice of Spain", being there, I feel like being simultaneously not only in Italy but also somewhere in Croatia and Greece. The urban part was built already 50 years ago, and it's famous for its picturesque colourful houses where everyone has access to the water with plenty of boats around. It is located 4 km from Malvarosa beach but there is a bus connection and the taxi ride is affordable.
I enjoy going there in the summer for the beach as well as just for a walk in the winter. Plenty of cafes around always take care of your mood and budget. Horchateria, with the famous horchata is also there as the Alboraya area around is especially famous for it. For a budget traveler, Alcampo is there to support a nice picnic. Enjoy your stay at the sea as well as a dive into the residential area, where you will be surrounded by the channels and boats within a rich greenery. During the season there are also the cruises, so why not give it a try?
