This restaurant started out life years ago downtown and was called La Bodega. They were "the" authentic Spanish tapas bar in town way before shared plates were in style. My friends and I had been going to the old restaurant for decades so we were really looking forward to trying out the new and improved Bodega. The original location now has a massive residential tower in its place but happily this restaurant received a new life as Bodega on Main. It has all the old favorites with plenty of new ones as well and I'm pleased to say that the food, service and ambiance are as good as ever.
Their patatas bravas are as I remember them, delicious and zesty with flavour, the calamari is lightly battered and all but melts in your mouth and the prawns in garlic are still amazing. Don't forget to order a jug of their excellent sangria and finish everything off with the figs in bourbon, dipped in chocolate. They get busy so go early or reserve a table beforehand as they only take limited bookings and the place isn't huge.
