When you think of cute and quaint coffee shops, Finch’s Tea and Coffee House comes to mind. The cafe is an eclectic collection of rustic tables, chairs and accent pieces giving off a very European vibe.
The menu features soup, salads and sandwiches as well as a small selection of baked goods and breakfast items, however, it is the butcher paper wrapped baguette sandwiches that bring locals flocking to Finch’s. My favourite item is their pear sandwich which comes beautifully arranged over flowing with blue brie, prosciutto, roasted walnuts, oil and vinegar. An unlikely combination, but a delicious balance of sweet and savoury and soft and crunchy textures. Their house salad combines similar ingredients and is also a great choice.
Finch’s is fantastic for a tasty lunch, however, be prepared for it to be busy. Getting a seat at one of their few tables is difficult, especially during peak hours. However, they do a great job of packing up your meal to enjoy in a nearby park.
