Fun Alley Vancouver – A hidden colourful hangout spot
One of my favourite things to do while travelling is find street art, so when I finally discovered some in my neighbourhood, I was excited that it could be the start of more murals in the area. Tucked away off a residential street, Fun Alley is the perfect hidden spot to relax in Lower Lonsdale.
Created by eight teenage artists in 2017, Fun Alley adds a fun pop of colour to North Vancouver's street art scene. Benches to sit on and watered plants show that Fun Alley was designed as a place for people to hang out, not just a place to quickly look at and keep going.
It’s also a nice place for a photo shoot on either wall when the sun is right, and in summer, it is a great place to escape the heat, as one side is always shady. My favourite thing to do is grab a coffee, doughnut, or ice cream from nearby Earnest Ice Cream or 49th Parallel Coffee and head over to snack in the shade with a book. It’s the perfect addition to a visit to the Lower Lonsdale area.
