Heirloom Vegetarian is not a mystery or a secret in Vancouver. It is a well-known restaurant for vegetarian options, so I had to add it to my favorite spots. I love going there: the ceiling is high and the space feels bright and clear even when crowded. They do not take reservations on Friday night, Saturday all day, Sunday brunch, and holidays, so be patient if you come as a group.  Â
I also love to know that they focus on local and world-conscious initiatives like fair-trade ingredients that are always fresh. Therefore, it is not a cheap restaurant, but I always feel like it's well-invested "dinner money".
They give a modern twist to some traditional Canadian menu options, like the French toast they offer at brunch. A "banana-infused almond milk batter" and a cashew cream make this sweet breakfast taste like heaven! The French toasts are not drowned in maple syrup, but under some delicious fruit compote and fresh bananas... and they fill you up with great big portions of them
You can also order a side of freshly-made juice or one of their original cocktails, alcoholic or not!
