No tasting room, no lounge, no tables, no chairs and no food. This is not your regular brewery you would normally visit. You drink inside the actual brewery, with plastic cups. How cool is that?
If there is one brewery that explains the culture of East Van, this one is it.
The legend goes that James, the owner of this brewery, was a biologist and one day he decided: "I can brew a better beer than anyone here". So he went to a scrap shop and bought some parts and built this brewery himself. He is called 'Mad Scientist' for this reason. Again, how cool is that?
The brewery does not have an official tasting room, but you can 'taste' the beers one at a time by donation.
This place is at the end of The Drive neighborhood. It does not have a food option, but there are so many restaurants near by. Try some crazy amazing beers like the pineapple pilsner or spicy orange ale.
