The Cascade Room Vancouver
UK pub with a classic feel
The Cascade Room is one of my go-to spots; it’s close to where I live, and has a casual yet classic environment. The specials are featured on a large chalkboard above the bar along with a random liquor-related quote that always makes me chuckle. Mostly frequented by Main street and vicinity locals, their beautifully displayed bar and low lighting make it a perfect place to grab a drink before heading to the Biltmore Cabaret for a concert, catching up with friends, or for a nice date. If you’re around on a Monday, you may want to venture into trivia night -- it is quite amusing!
They have happy hour daily from 4-6 pm, Sunday Roast night, and a series of ongoing seasonal events, so be sure to check their calendar in advance.
The staff is friendly, and they have great cocktails, craft beers, and an impressive list of spirits. From the kitchen, I’d suggest the polenta fries and the charcuterie platter, the mussels, or the gnocchi. Those are just some of my favorites, but I have to say this pub does a good job on their food menu.
Be sure to pop in here if you’re cruising Main street in the late afternoon or evening.
