The Soap Dispensary and Kitchen Staples is a must-have in a place like Vancouver. It is our first Zero-Waste "grocery store" in the city, I hope of many to come!Â
They have soaps and households cleaners (but also oils, powders and around 300 bulk products) to refill our reusable containers (that we bring from home or can buy there) to encourage keeping single-use plastic containers out of landfills. I'm so happy to say that 50% of their suppliers are locally owned. I t makes me proud of shopping there. Not only do I get to minimize my environmental impact but I encourage local businesses.Â
I bought an "Abeego" beeswax food wrap from there, so I can replace my use of Saran Wrap/Plastic Wrap for something better environmentally. I got my first pack in Victoria, BC while visiting there a while ago, and I was happy to find this item at the Soap Dispensary too, so I bought a second one!
Who's with me in heading to a zero-waste lifestyle?
