It's always a nice surprise when one of your go-to places still manages to surprise you. That was the case for me with brunch at The Union.
Located in the ever-so trendy and up-and-coming Chinatown, its long picnic-style tables and low-key environment really encourage guests to mingle and share. That atmosphere, along with an amazing selection of food and cocktails, is the reason why I keep going back.Â
Surprisingly enough, I had not been there for brunch yet. So, when a friend suggested it a few weeks ago, in my mind I was going to repeat an experience, and not have a completely new one. Boy, was I wrong!
If you're into exquisite cocktails, give their lychee mimosas a try. They are so delicious I could have 10 of them! The brunch plates are very well served and nicely presented, and the scent will leave your mouth watering. The lemongrass sausage they use is fantastic; personally, I had my doubts about that combination but once again, I was (gladly) proven wrong. What a great meal that was!
The Union also serves lunch, dinner and "in betweens" as they call them, and they're all great but I'm hands-down a brunch fan. You can also pop in for happy hour or a late night drink. Check their website for events and daily specials.
