Pho Hang is on a side street of the Mariahilferstraße, the popular shopping street in Vienna. The street is always full and bustling with people wanting to shop, eat or drink. That is why it amazes me that this place still hasn’t been “discovered”. It is literally right there, 20 meters from the main street. Not to complain, because that is very good for me, and you too.
Coincidentally, this is the first Vietnamese restaurant in Vienna I had lunch in. My gym used to be close by, and on the way home, a friend suggested that we eat there. I didn’t expect a lot since it doesn’t look like much, but I was blown away and am regularly coming back since.
They offer typical Vietnamese food without any fuss or fancy décor. The summer rolls are huge and the best I ever tried. The pho can easily compete with much more popular and fancy Vietnamese restaurants. Pretty much everything I tried was amazing. So, follow this pro tip for a quick lunch in the city and/or a break from all the shopping, and thank me later!
