Monstro Vilnius

This almost boutique bar is situated in the very heart of Vilnius old town. You might not notice it at first and pass it by without even looking at the cozy light in the windows.

Monstro bar is extremely small, tiny I would say. Brought together by two guys from Saint-Petersburg, who had the aim of opening the smallest bar in town.

However, many people do not mind standing (as there are like 5-6 tables at best) and the place is completely stuffed during the weekend.

What I like about this place is that it's not overcomplicated. The owners don't try to compete with other, bigger bars by trying to provide all the services their competitors do. It's simple. It's all about the craft beers, some wine and rather bulky sandwiches if you're hungry. It's no gourmet cuisine with outstanding wine menu and that's just ok.

Would I take my foreign friends there - yes. Do I go there every day - no. You need a special mood for Monstro bar to fully enjoy it and that's just great. So it will not bore you out like the majority of Vilnius pubs and bars do, because they get way too casual.

So if you are in the mood for some casual coziness, great beer and very simple food and some special atmosphere - big chance you can find that at Monstro bar.
