When I think of uploading a new article about my dearest places in Athens, I always promise to myself not to write about food again. But "Amandine's Bagels" is a good reason to go against that self-promise!
It is really easy to guess what is all about - bagels of course.
Amandine is a very beautiful girl from France that left her life there and came to Nikis street to make a very small place where you can taste bagels at their best. She has given names to bagels from places around the world like Lisboa!
You have a few choices - οne of my favorites is salmon with avocado and a very special handmade sauce. And also for our vegetarian friends, ask the one with the vegetables! Αnd every single month, they make the specialty of that month.
Last few months I discovered that except the salty bagels you can also taste sweet ones. So how about starting your day with a coffee made by charming Mr. Michalis together with a "peanut butter with marmelade" bagel or an even simpler "cream cheese with honey" one?
Last but not least, another reason to visit Amandine for your coffee is that they have stopped using plastic cups for coffee and replaced them with paper ones.
There are actually three falafel places located next to each other in Plateia Vathis (Vathis square). All three places are equally good, offering huge portions for a great price.

The meticulous look and distinct flavour of Pâte et Crème's sweets are captivating. And the perfectly balanced sweet and sour lemon tart is unforgettable.

The house is known for the two wonderful Caryatid sculptures located on the balcony of its facade. The house was built in the late 19th century and is a typical example of Athenian neoclassicism.

The secret of its success are great raw materials. The burgers are 100% black angus ground beef, and the fluffy buns are made with their own recipe.

"SCRY Coffee Bar" is in Athens' Kypseli, a neighbourhood that's a beautiful hive... I love this cafe's filter coffee(!) and single origin blends to bits.

"Melanthiou street" used to be an Athens street where drug addicts frequented - now it's a cyclist's joint, full of refreshing bars and creative studios.

"Zouridakis" in Athens, in the central market, has all the Cretan specialties you can imagine - but my favorite is the Xigalo cheese. Don't miss it, along with some raki!
