My friends showed me a spot that became one of my favourites of all time. Because when I walked in here, it once again confirmed that Barcelona is an enchanting and surprising city!
My friends took me to Antic Teatre. In the middle of a dark narrow street you enter through a small door and find yourself in a little courtyard with a garden bar. There is a huge tree in the middle surrounded by many chairs and tables. Always packed with people, and looking a little chaotic, this terrace is the home to the creative and bohemian people of Barcelona.
Antic Teatre is a cultural centre and home to contemporary and independent performances. They mainly host new and daring artists, supporting the young and upcoming creatives. I must confess I have never actually seen any performances, but this origin gives the place the bohemian and creative vibe that I love about it! You need to get your own drink at the bar and maybe linger a while standing in a corner to find a seat. But trust me, it's worth it!
Surrounded by the walls of surrounding buildings, you feel like you have entered a secret garden full of happy, creative and colorful people. You will find yourself between the young hipsters of the city. Every time I walk in, I feel life in Barcelona can't really get better than this. A beer, some friends, surrounded by sun, trees and laughter. All of that hidden behind one little door...
