For those days when 24 hours don't seem enough and you don't even have time to fry an egg, you have Mendizabal, a small corner bar specialising in sandwiches.
Situated in one of the most multicultural neighbourhoods of Barcelona, El Raval, this place is also known by many as "barra del Raval" (translated as the bar of Raval).
Bar Mendizabal offers more than a baguette with aceite y tomate (oil and tomato; two ingredients Catalan people love putting in their sandwiches). Just by looking at the menu, your mouth starts dribbling; one of my favourites is the "onion black pudding" served with baked pumpkin, Parmesan cheese and rocket salad.
I sometimes also like to sweeten my afternoon on their cozy terrace with one of their colourful smoothies prepared with fresh fruits. Of course you can also find standard drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Apart from the delicious food and sandwiches that won't leave you indifferent, the prices are very accessible.
This little sandwich heaven is not to be missed!
