Fábrica Lehmann (Lehmann Factory) is located in a hidden patio in the middle of Eixample. You would probably never cross the main door to arrive to the charming patio, unless someone tells you about it. This hidden spot is a creative space that brings together around twenty artisans and creative entrepreneurs.
I first found out about it because there was a Christmas Market where the creative spaces opened up their doors and sold their products with live music and street food. I was really surprised to find out such as an industrial-looking place just in the middle of the city.
This place used to be a toy factory in 1893 and the 25 metre-high chimney used to work as an oven would bake the porcelain and other materials. After the Spanish Civil War, it was gradually occupied by small businesses from the neighbourhood. Currently, there are small creative and art-related business such as a photographer, architects, a book store, and a restaurant.
