Pizza is universal: wherever you go, you find tons of restaurants serving it. But the hard work is finding a very good one. Especially in big cities where the chance of falling into a tourist trap is high. But not if you are in Barcelona and heading to Pit Stop Pizza, a tiny, recently opened spot with barely any space to sit inside apart from the bar where you order. Located almost in front of one of my favourite touristic attractions of Barcelona, the Hospital Sant Pau, the pizzeria is run by two partners, both of them with a gastronomy background.
The menu has some traditional pizza flavors of course, and also some innovations that are mouthwatering: the panceta for example is home made and you cannot miss it. The Portobello is another one, so always go with another person so you can taste at least those ones! Or, who cares if you order two pizzas for yourself? Wait for the surprise in a syringe.
But if I could name the star of the menu it would be their cheesecake dessert pizza: the perfect balance of sweetness and freshness is out of this world, really!
They treat customers amazingly, and hopefully you will get Gabrielle serving you with his cool Italian accent that will take you to that amazing country, too!
