Fast food is a safe field when you are traveling. You know what you are gonna get, after all, and usually the price is affordable. Sometimes you have to go for it in order to reduce your average expenditure on some crazy days. But as I grow older and have more experience, I have learned that you can always find local alternatives that are better in terms of product quality and also in price!
I am a huuuuge fan of fried chicken. And without any shame, a huge fan of KFC. But recently I went to a very central place in Barcelona (Eixample zone) called Rooq Chicken. It has lots of fried and grilled chicken options and also veggie ones. And it kinda works as a fast food chain with the charm of a unique chicken shop. You order and pay in advance in the cashier and later a beep lets you know when to get your meal. For 10 euro you will have a full meal with a sandwich, drink and side dish!
And what a meal! I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw salad and an extra portion of nuggets and I was in heaven. So much flavor, and such great service too. Will definitely direct some more revenue to this local fried chicken spot!
