I must confess I am not at all a vegetarian, let alone a vegan. And I do know veggie food can be delicious, but a previous experience with a vegetarian restaurant had been quite bad.
So me ending up in a vegetarian restaurant again was not very likely. But Veggie Garden caught my eye. It looks fresh, trendy and colourful and I got curious. So when I had a friend visiting who appreciates vegetarian food a lot, I took her there. And I was so pleasantly surprised! My jaw dropped when I saw the list of different fruit juices and smoothies they have. Freshly squeezed in big glasses, there is no fruit combination they do not offer. They even have shakes with nuts in it (no need for a meal if you have one of those).
Apart from the long list of juices, which is my main reason for a visit every once in a while, the food is very good as well. They managed to make me forget it was completely vegan. My favourite is the Japanese noodle salad, but to be fair it all smells amazing. Most dishes are quite light, so it is perfect for lunch or a very hot day.
The prices are low and for that you will get great quality! I always hear it can be quite difficult to find good vegetarian food in Barcelona. But search no more and head down to Raval. You won't be disappointed!
