All my friends know which is my favorite place in Brussels... the esplanade at Mont des Arts. In itself it's nothing special, but when you arrive there at sunset and it's a clear sky day, then you will immediately understand why I like it so much.
There's a nice view of Place d'Espagne and the town hall tower in Grand Place. But the colors are the ones that strike me. It's impossible to describe a sunset, so just take a chance and check out this place!
The area around is also one of the most interesting for museums: within a 2-minute walk, you can find the Musical Instruments Museum in a magnificent art nouveau building, the Magritte Museum, the Museum de Fin De Siecle, the Bozar and many more.
It's a real meeting place for locals and visitors. Down the first flight of stairs, you can find the Chateau Moderne bar. It's a great location, but not my favourite bar as it's "drinks at the bar," and there's always a long queue.
Going further down towards the center you can find a nice lit up garden with many benches and tables. And down the end of the esplanade, on the right-hand side, there's Plein Publiek with its Lebanese restaurant, the bar and now and then a nice party.
