Until a couple of weeks ago, I did not know the meaning of the word ‘Kahvalti’. When a friend suggested going to a Turkish café for Sunday brunch, I wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I was signing up for. This is how I found myself googling it, to discover that it is a typical Turkish breakfast, where you can eat bread, cheese, spreads and eggs. For the brunch, we headed to Lemon, a Turkish café in the vibrant Turkish neighbourhood of Brussels, near the Botanique Metro station.
We went for the petit-déjeuner complet formula, which is 20 euros per person and it includes all the main dishes of this meal, including burek, a pastry made of a thin flaky dough such as filo with cheese, fruits, honey with other spreads, a cheese board, and olives. The highlights were for me the eggs, which we ordered both as menemen (perfectly scrambled eggs with tomatoes, peppers, and onions) and aux sucuk, with beef sausage. All served warm and accompanied by unlimited Turkish tea, just to keep the vibe right.
For those of you with a sweet tooth, you can also indulge in a sweet breakfast with pancakes or waffles, as well as in a slice of homemade cheesecake. No reservation needed, just come and enjoy some comfort food before starting a new week!

They serve New York style pizza, so thin and huge. You can choose among the classic Margherita, Pepperoni (with spicy salami), and the pizza of the month!

There's nothing in Brussels like "Le Corbeau". It's a brasserie, a local restaurant/bar, but at night it becomes the opposite of Cinderella's fairytale...

"Bois de La Cambre" is the preferred spot for me on a sunny day in Brussels. There is more to this park than a spot to have a picnic.
