Carturesti is one of the most well-known bookstore chains in Bucharest and the Verona bookstore is my favourite. It's actually a concept store - not only a bookstore, but a teashop and a project space as it is actively involved in reviving the artistic scene in Romania. You can find a lot of young Romanian designers' creations here, from clothes to home design and jewelry, so definitely check it out as it's a great place to buy designer souvenirs.
You can even find some jewelry from my brand ZSTR displayed here :)
What I love about this place is that you can enjoy reading a few pages of a book and sip a cup of tea at the same time - of course, no one has a problem if you just relax on the stairs of the bookstore and skim over a book or magazine.
The offer is diverse, from books, magazines, to DVDs and also amazing tea, tea accessories, organic cosmetics, clothes, accessories, jewelry - all these in a very pleasant atmosphere.
Carturesti Verona is the perfect place to be if you're looking for a quiet spot for a few moments, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, even though it's very centrally situated. During the summer they also have a really nice and huge terrace where I recommend their delicious lemonades.
