If you are around Piața Iancului, you must try the sweets prepared by Cofetăria Alice, one of the most popular dessert shops in Bucharest. You may actually track it down by the huge line of clients, especially during the weekends or the holidays.
I think about their desserts with nostalgia, because they have a lot of old Romanian recipes of sweets. Some of their products remind me of sweets I used to enjoy as a child. Such examples are Boema, Amandină, Savarină or Lămâiță. The mini cakes have the same price, so you can order different desserts if it is hard for you to decide what to try.
If you want to buy a cake, I recommend you preorder it online. One of my top favorites is Tortul Jeni, made with syrupy cocoa top, chocolate cream and alcohol cherries, tiramisu cream with chopped walnut and decorated with cocoa glaze.
