I would say that Haveli is the best Indian restaurant in Bucharest and serves some of the most delicious Indian dishes that I have ever tried anywhere.
The restaurant, which is situated in a villa in one of the old parts of Bucharest, has a specific Oriental décor and ambiance. It is managed by a Pakistani owner, has Indian chefs and the waiters are really attentive and nice.
If you have a hard time deciding what to order, the waiters will always be of great help. They will not believe you when you say that you would like your dish very spicy, because as you know Indians are used to different levels of spiciness than Europeans, but rest assured that after discussing your preferences the chef will cook the perfect spicy dish for your taste.
Everything here is excellent, but I would strongly recommend for starters the Paneer Tikka (cottage cheese with onion, tomato and paprika cooked in a tandoori) and because I love lamb I would go either for the Lamb Roganjosh or the Lamb Vindaloo with rice with cumin seeds and/or butter naan. You could also try lassi, a yogurt based drink with Indian spices, which will help if the dish is too spicy.
Another good thing about Haveli is that you can also order online for take-away and depending on the area where you are situated, they might even deliver your order for free.
