The craft beer industry has developed incredibly fast in the last years in Romania and especially in Bucharest. The Beer Institute offers more than 150 kinds of local craft beer from over 30 brands. So, as you can see, there are plenty of options and a single visit might not be enough.
Personally, I am a big fan of Hop Hooligans Brewery, one the brands available at The Beer Institute. If you can find Cannon Fire, a porter made by Hop Hooligans, please try it! It is a black beer that smells like chocolate and tastes like a mix of cocoa with coconut.
Other beers that I like and that you can find at The Beer Institute are Anagram, Zăganu, Ground Zero, Patos and Sikaru. But there are still a lot of beer producers that I am not familiar with yet.
I suggest asking the staff to help you and explaining to them what you usually like.
The Beer Institute has 2 shops: one on Calea Dorobanți 31-33 and another on Calea Floreasca 113.
Tip: They have recently launched a new kind of service: a subscription where you receive home, every month, a selection of the latest beers produced in Romania.

I also come here when I just wanna sit on a bench (there are plenty of those here) and have a snack, read a book, or even have a picnic with my loved ones.

The options are limited (and I absolutely love that) & every burger has ingredients matched to perfection from the thyme and garlic toasted sourdough bun.

The name B.A.R is an acronym for “almost Romanian kitchen” which hints that, here, you’re gonna eat reinterpretations or adaptations of Romanian dishes.

"Bocca Lupo" is the coolest Italian restaurant in Bucharest. They use a yellow Fiat as a working table for making pizza. Yes, the whole car...
