Finally, there is a lovely little place right at Keleti train station in Budapest! As I often travel from the bustling area of Keleti to visit family, I have long wondered why I haven't found a place yet in the nearby area where I could grab something delicious to take away for a several-hour trip or where I could sit down for a quick chat with friends before leaving Budapest.
Now it seems that these thoughts were not only mine, and to our luck, they have been listened to and addressed! It's a real gift for many of the regular passengers or locals of the area to get to choose from all the quality coffees, bakery products made with care, cookies & cakes, and to have a calm place to wait while still keeping an eye on the big clock on the building of Keleti.
All this is thanks to this spot and its very kind and attentive staff, who gladly recommend some personal favorites and even speak perfect English with visitors from other countries. The café is relatively small, including a tiny gallery and a mini terrace for the sunny hours. Its style resembles of an urban jungle, offering a happy little shelter from one of the busiest streets of Budapest.
