Knippschild Werk 2 is where I take my family and friends when they are visiting from Belgium and I want to introduce them to the Kölsch culture and hospitality. Indeed, Knippschild Werk 2 staff is friendly and attentive: you will never run out of Kölsch there!
Knippschild Werk 2 is a rather small family-run restaurant with 30 seats inside and 18 seats in the biergarten at the front. If you want to be on the safe side, you can book a table. The menu is small with regional and German classics such as halven Hahn (rye bread with cheese) and multiple kinds of Schnitzel from €15 to €18.5. There are also daily specials such as a beef stew with French fries and mayonnaise.
If you go to Knippschild Werk 2 during the Cologne Carnival (on November 11 and in February / early March), you will have the chance to join one of their Carnival performances. You can also check their website for other live performances. Knippschild Werk 2 is a 13-minute walk from the Cologne Dellbrück train station, which is 14 minutes by train from Cologne Central Station (S11). While you are in Köln Dellbrück, you can also have a walk in the Natural Reserve Dellbrücker Heide, or buy raw milk cheeses in Käseglück.
