Knippschild Werk 2 is where I take my family and friends when they visit from Belgium and I want to introduce them to the Kölsch culture and hospitality. Indeed, the staff at Knippschild Werk 2 are friendly and attentive: you will never run out of Kölsch!
Knippschild Werk 2 is a rather small, family-run restaurant with 30 seats inside and 18 in the beer garden at the front. If you want to be on the safe side, you can book a table. The menu is small, with regional and German classics such as Halven Hahn (rye bread with cheese) and several types of schnitzel from €15 to €18.5. There are also daily specials such as beef stew with chips and mayonnaise.
If you go to Knippschild Werk 2 during the Cologne Carnival (on 11 November and in February/early March), you will have the chance to take part in one of their carnival performances. You can also check their website for other live performances. Knippschild Werk 2 is a 13 minute walk from Köln Dellbrück station, which is a 14 minute train ride from Cologne Central Station (S11). While in Cologne Dellbrück, you can also go for a walk in the Dellbrücker Heide nature reserve or buy raw milk cheese at Käseglück.
