Dennistoun has become a host to excellent spots for food and drink, and East is one of the reasons why. Still, in its first couple of years, the team have perfected a simple but staple menu to go with amazing coffee. The walls are kept minimal, using bare brick as a backdrop and adorning the corners with plants and bread from local suppliers. As with all of the best places, it is doggo friendly and the locals can be seen in there at any and all time of the day.
The food menu is small but what they do, they do well. The pancakes especially are to be taken note of. They are light, fluffy and the very thing you didn't know your day was missing. It's a lovely space to meet with a friend but also equally enjoyable for some time along to get lost in your thoughts.
They have recently opened a little roasters less than a 5-minute walk around the corner, focusing on all things coffee. Whichever one you fancy, I recommend taking a good book and relaxing in EAST.
