A few weeks ago, on our way back from Kelvingrove Park, we ventured into an attractive basement venue, one street away from the popular Finnieston strip. This was a lucky chance! We discovered Soul Food Kitchen, a beautiful venue dedicated to healthy food and wellbeing.
We were immediately attracted by the white luminous interior (with inspiring slogans on the wall) and the friendly lounge vibe atmosphere as we were made welcome by the cheery staff.
Soul Food Kitchen serves a 100% plant-based menu including organic, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. You’ll find a small but creative list of dishes, from hearty soups to mouthwatering vegan burgers and raw cakes.
We chose the roasted beetroot and coconut soup and the falafel bowl and shared the Chef’s smoked Tofu risotto (served with spinach and petit pois, topped with a walnut and basil pesto!) All was very tasty and nicely presented. For dessert, we indulged in the baked chocolate and coffee cheesecakes. De.li.cious!
If you want to excite your taste buds even more any time of the day, you can go for their freshly made juices and try their organic coffee or kombucha on tap!
In addition, the venue holds interesting workshops such as food photography or healthy recipes for home or yoga (check their website for updates).
We left full and happy and couldn’t have asked for more. This happily affordable experience is well worth trying, even if you are not vegan! We will be back!
