Are you interested in naval history? Then I have some good news for you. The İstanbul Naval Museum is one of the world's leading museums with its rich collection consistsing of Ottoman rowboats that are hundreds of years old, ship models, paintings and other maritime-related objects. And apart from the collection, it hosts one of the best restaurants in the city inside of it: Bord İstanbul food & drinks.
Being located in Besiktas, it's just ten minutes away from Taksim square by dolmush. Bord offers so many advantages like the outstanding museum atmosphere, elegant interior and a very special menu. It is excellent for both lunch and dinner. The owners are also running an exclusive catering company and they reflect this experience gained through many years in the food industry.
The menu is not vast, and that's because they are very selective about organic, fresh and seasonal foods. Short but to the point. There are plenty of vegetarian choices. I love the untreated wheat salad with vegetables, the sauce they use was incredible! Nachos, grilled salmon and sausages are also good options for meat lovers.
As I mentioned above, the interior design is very shiny and cool but Bord has also a very lovely garden for summertime joy.
