Every Ukrainian schooler knows from his English classes that: “Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine and it is situated on the river Dnipro”. The right bank is an ancient part, where the city was founded more than 1,5 thousand years ago. It is hilly and green. And the best way to see its beauty is to look at it from the left bank. No offense, left bank, but you’re flat and boring, just face it!
My good friends live here, right at the embankment and they have a great opportunity to enjoy the sunset over the city hills every day. We usually walk in the park along the riverside with our babies. It’s a nice place to have a cup of coffee from the countless coffee cars, sit on the bench and enjoy the view.
By the way, pay attention to the Paton bridge on your right hand. Built in 1953 with the unique technique of welding, this is the first ever all-welded bridge, and the longest one in Kyiv. Whatever this may mean to you. As for me, I just find it beautiful.
