Paninoteka used to be Ljubljana's most famous sandwich shop and although sandwiches are nowadays served all around the city, this place still remains one of my favourites in town. Legendary creative sandwiches made of quality ingredients and veggie soups are on my weekly list.
They are constantly changing daily lunch specials but when visiting this place for the first time, the freshly prepared and warmed up sandwich is a must! My all-time favorite is the 3P chicken sandwich and mixed vegetable soup served with fresh bread. Make sure to come before noon if you want to taste 3P, it is usually sold out pretty fast. If you made it to the place when no 3P is left, then try the sandwich with prosciutto and olives. You can't go wrong with that decision either.
Although the atmosphere inside is cosy, if it's a bit warmer day I would recommend you choose a table outside. It is always nice to have a view of the famous Cobblers' bridge and beautiful Ljubljana Castle.
