Eating out with friends can be stressful nowadays... one is vegan, another has celiac disease, the third doesn't eat carbs and then there's always that meat lover who just doesn't eat vegetables. I mean, I can't even allow myself to be cynical, since I myself am lactose intolerant on top of the many other digestive issues I have. Maybe you're rolling your eyes or empathically nodding - I'm down with both, since I've managed to find a perfect wine and dine option for (dare I say) the majority of tastes.
Gostilna Vida may be small in square footage but in what it offers it is anything but. Their tres chic interior design touches a chord with that jungle feeling, yet it holds nothing against admirably redone inner courtyard. A hidden corner embellished with greenery and soft light truly resembles a lost paradise of sorts. Add a glass of natural wine to that and trust me, even the most sophisticated palates are in for a nice evening. My favored one is Rebula from Brda, since its taste corresponds nicely to the majority of their vegan, pescatarian and chicken dishes. However, I would propose Cabarnet Sauvignon from Kras if you intend to order something meatier, like pork belly or veal roll. My favorite part is that some of their mains like the soba stir-fry noodles or poke bowls offer a choice of tempeh, prawns or chicken, so you can adjust the meal to your liking and/or diet.
All the tummies full, everybody pleased!
