It's not just the best chocolate cake in the world because its name says so. It is best to try it in Madrid, and an excellent idea after visiting the Parque del Retiro, because it is located on Calle Alcalá, or you can walk there from the Puerta de Alcalá.
This chocolate delight is already an iconic dessert. If it's your birthday, you can order one for you and your friends (they don't just sell it in portions). Whoever is a chocolate fan must go and indulge in the pleasure of enjoying a chocolate cake in its dark chocolate version (with more percentage of cocoa) or with milk chocolate. You have to be patient, because there are not many tables.
The story of this cake begun like this: after a season in London, Portuguese Carlos Braz Lopes decided to realize his dream: devote himself entirely to his pots. What began with a simple dessert in the restaurant, became so famous, that in 2002 he opened a small confectionery called "O Melhor Bolo de Chocolate do Mundo", in the neighborhood of Campo de Ourique, exclusively to sell and market the cake.
The recipe, which does not contain flour or ferment, is made with high French confectionery chocolate Valrhona and is presented in two versions: 70% cocoa and the traditional sweet 53% cocoa. Customers can savor the cakes in portions or buy them whole in large or small sizes.
