In Berlin and London you can find those corner shops, which are open until late everyday, almost everywhere. This culture unfortunately does not exist here, however, Munich has one fabulous kiosk which is open 24/7!
The Kiosk is located in the city centre at the Reichenbach bridge - close to the Deutsches Museum - and it seems always busy: in the morning people buy breakfast and the paper, during the day you get your take away coffee, ice cream or a sandwich and in the evening there are long cues of people buying beer and wine in order to have a drink while sitting in the grass at the river embankment.
I used to live close by and this place saved me a few times when I had forgotten to get eggs, fresh milk or bread rolls for Sunday breakfast or if I needed a last minute bottle of wine to take to a party. The people who run the kiosk are always really friendly and chatty and I think you can tell they love what they do.

"Wirtshaus in der Au" Munich is my suggestion for a typical Bavarian restaurant with all the Schmankerl. Pro tip: after you have eaten, ask for a schnapps.
