Kumpir Istanbul Podgorica

This small fast food restaurant, Istanbul, was recently opened in Podgorica, in the city center. It's a very interesting place even for us. The reason is that in our history we spent a long time under the Ottoman empire so naturally we have inherited a large number of their dishes. Our national cuisine is very reminiscent of Turkey.

For example, our national drink is rakija. It's a strong short drink served in shooters and by tradition you should eat something we call MEZE made from different types of cheese and dry meet, with olives. It's not a meal, it's kind of bite served on one or two plates for all people on the table. Turkish people drink raki and eat meze, just with other ingredients. 

So, the guys who are running the restaurant are special because they still find a way to surprise even though we are so similar, and bring new tastes from Turkey. 

My recommendation is the beautiful baked potato filled with other vegetables, and for dessert, the absolutely delicious pistachio baklava.
