Rijeka is a city without so many parks, especially not in the center of town. I bet a lot of Rijeka's citizens don't know this park even exists.
Half an hour on foot, or about ten minutes by bus, you will reach this green relaxation zone on Bulevard neighbourhood.
First, you will reach Lole Ribara (Fisherman's) garden. The garden got its name after Ivo Lola Ribar, a Yugoslavian politician and partisan official. In the garden you will find a lovely lake with a lot of turtles. Please, do not feed them. They have somebody who cares for them.
Then, upstairs, is Vidikovac, the water reservoir. It was built in 1912 and used in early 1915. The water supplies neighborhoods Trsat and Sušak with drinking water from the source of the river Rječina. The water supply project was built by Milan pl. Eisenthel in the style of high historicism. These are high-rise terraces with beautiful views on the city. At Vidikovac, the vindict is not fenced, and citizens can walk freely in it.
In 2016, its first wedding ever was held here. What more do you need to convince you to visit this place?
