When I was a kid, I was a big fan of the “Ninja Turtles” movie. Pizza was quite a delicacy in Saint Petersburg that time, that’s why it became something special for me. Camorra Pizza is a nice pizza/beer place located in one of the yards in the city center. It's not easy to find from the street, just like the Ninja Turtles' secret hideout, so only true locals know about it.
The place belongs to well-known among European beer geeks brewery AF Brew. Winter-spiced mocha stout with cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg or summer sour ale with wild honey and blackberry... I guess just reading this can turn you into a beer explorer.
What makes pizza so special there? I would say everything starting from the ingredients that can blow your mind like mozzarella, pear, juniper syrup, jerky venison, blueberry filling continuing with weekly updates of recipes... There's a new crazy pizza every week.
And of course the atmosphere is stunning. You can take a place in the yard and enjoy the fresh air, a seat on the first floor and talk to the bartender or the pizza guys, or you can climb higher on the second floor. That, by the way, can be a challenge (especially with beer in you hands); you have to use a pretty narrow vintage spiral staircase, but what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.
Be strong with locals and enjoy good pizza.
