In the beginning it was just a boiler house...
The history of this spot called "Kamchatka" began in the summer of 1986, during the decline of the Soviet Union. One of the most famous Russian rock singers, who is regarded as a pioneer of Russian rock, Viktor Tsoi, had been working here as a stoker for three years. Here he started his way to the big stage.
Today, the visitors can enjoy everyday concerts and creative performances such as poetry evenings and tribute meetings. They are all mainly devoted to Russian rock, especially in memory of Viktor Tsoi and his band "Kino".
During the daytime, the club works as a museum with free entrance! Photos and videos are allowed. Its exhibition reveals the personal belongings of the famous stokers-musicians who used to work here in “Kamchatka” when it was a boiler house. The key exhibit is Tsoi’s guitar, which he bought in the '70s. As I am a rock music lover, I really enjoyed visiting this magical place. The walls, the entrance, the courtyard, the interior, they all tell us the whole history of those times. It was a time of changes...
The entrance to the club-museum also looks like what it did in the Soviet '80s...
