Mjedenica Center Sarajevo
School of life
Mjedenica is not a usual spot for locals or tourists but regardless, it's a place where you can define your life values.
It's a public institution/school that works with children with difficulties in psychophysical development, from preschool age to adult age (from 3 to 40 years). Their goal is to raise and educate children, socialize them and strengthen them for life in accordance with their individual needs, interests and abilities.
The management and whole staff really work hard on improving all aspects of their activities in order to provide the children best possible conditions.
This is important spot for me, because, having been a volunteer and a friend of this institution for many years, has made me a better me, better profiler of life's values, better detector of the important and non so important things in life.
So, if you're a local, you can apply to volunteer in some organizations that co-operate with Mjedenica, or visit their handcraft exhibitions and buy some beautiful unique photo frames, art pictures, jewelry, various clay statues or pots, containers etc. and support their work.
If you're a tourist and/or an NGO, you may suggest some networking and international cooperation.
Either way, children are our future so this is an important spot.
A hug from these children gives you profound insight in the meaning of life.
