You can’t call a place ‘urban’ if it doesn’t have that specific spot (or several of them) where you can smell something deep-fried, oozing spicy goodness, while soothing music plays in the background. I’m talking about Asian cuisine spots, and in this case, Peking Garden in Skopje.
Along Maksim Gorki street, when moving towards the main Skopje square, you’ll notice a small terrace with an inviting air of calmness, but do not be fooled, because it leads to a huge space inside where you can get all of your friends to enjoy what you will most certainly find to be some of the best food in the city. Everything you order looks so good, it simply deems Instagram filters unnecessary, and the taste of it makes you want privacy with those rich portions of sour and sweet, spicy and hot, or other heavenly treats for your taste buds.
The staff is wonderful, you’ll want to congratulate the owners for being so good at selecting them. They’re helpful and make sure to ask them to suggest what they think is best on the menu. My personal recommendations would be the Sweet and Sour pork, or the Spicy Garlic Chicken, but I’m sure that whatever you order it will be a rewarding adventure.
Complete all that jazz with a dessert of caramelized fruit, expertly served to be eaten with your eyes and mouth, and you’ll leave Peking Garden wanting to come back there as soon as possible.
