The Spartak swimming pool is located in the Lozenetz area in Sofia. It is known for its swimming pool, but it is so much more than that - it is a full sports facility.
Apart from its indoor swimming pool there is also an outdoor swimming pool where you could lie in the sun in summer. There are many training halls for practicing all kinds of recreational sports, such as: athletics, tae bo, aerobics, callanetics, pilates, yoga, spinning, aqua aerobics, weight lifting, running, cycling, swimming, karate, boxing, sambo, water jumps, etc. There are also tennis courts at the back of the complex and a football field.
The complex also features additional facilities, such as restaurants, a hotel, exchange bureau, medical center, parking lot and a vast park - right next to it.
Spartak is regularly used for professional training by swimmers and you can use the 50m olympic size indoor swimming pool. It is owned by the sports club "Levski", which is one of the largest sports clubs in Bulgaria. The team of "Levski" has won numerous awards and medals in various disciplines over the years and that adds to the good quality and maintenance of the Spartak complex.
I have personally visited the gym area but didn't like it as much as some other gym places nearby (such as The Red Gym, check the Gym article). However I like relaxing and swimming in the outdoor swimming pool, which is the most visited attraction in the complex during the summer months.
