Amier Restaurant The Hague – The taste of Lebanon

"Cold starters like their baba ganoush or labneh are some of the best I have ever tasted. As for mains, choose between fish, meat and vegetarian dishes."

Looking for a place to have dinner in the heart of The Hague? The restaurant Amier really does have a prime location on Korte Poten, between the main train central station, Den Haag Centraal, and Het Plein in The Hague. Korte Poten is a small but busy street, filled with an abundance of restaurants and takeaway places. Amier is within walking distance from all major hotels in the city centre or Den Haag Centraal. If you do come by bike, however, it is handy to know that there is a free bike garage almost exactly opposite the restaurant at Biesieklette Korte Poten.

Amier seems to be full every single night, with people even queuing outside, waiting to get a table. I would recommend booking if you can. This can easily be done via their website, which also gives you a chance to check out their menu. To be honest, Amier might not be the cheapest (Lebanese) restaurant in The Hague, but you definitely get what you pay for. Cold starters like their baba ganoush or labneh start at € 7,95 and are some of the best I have ever tasted. As for mains, you can choose between fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. The last time I was there, I had their sahlab as a dessert, which in the menu gets described as a warm custard drink. It was absolutely outstanding and I felt like I could have had about 10 of them!

Secret Garden Bakery – Best kept secret

I discovered this bakery by surprise when I was taking a shortcut through the city centre. It is located in the middle of the city centre and yet it's quite secluded.
