Bookstor The Hague

No ordinary bookstore

""Bookstor" is a real treasure in the heart of The Hague. It's a place where people gather to share stories and play music or have a coffee & a bite to eat."

The Bookstor is a real treasure in the heart of The Hague. You can find this beautiful spot on Noordeinde, across the street from the palace. The historical property has been used as a bookshop for nearly a century. As you can tell by the name, it’s still a bookshop and they have a monthly rotating selection of books. Some books in their selection are just too special to be sold and are only available to be looked through.
Besides functioning as a bookshop, it now also has many more purposes. They organise various events in Bookstor that makes this place so much more than just your regular bookshop. For example: on Sunday mornings they host art classes for children 5 years and up, book presentations and organise reading sessions.

While it is a place where people gather to share stories and play music during the music nights, it is also a place where people can have a coffee and a bite to eat. They have some sweet pastries, such as carrot cake and Haagse Hopjes-cake. Also, they do some tasty lunch bites, such as toasties or avocado on toast. Many people bring their laptops with them to do some work, which is no punishment at Bookstor.

What I love most about Bookstor has to be the calm atmosphere. It simply feels like stepping into someone’s living cozy living room. I’m quite sure you’ll agree once you’ve visited this spot.
