This is another of my favorite places to visit during a stroll through Scheveningen. It is called the Meteotoren, and it is a sensational viewpoint as it offers a 360-degree view of many different sights of The Hague. First of all, you have a nice view of the sea, the beach and the pier (also a great spot to watch sunsets). Second, you can see the dunes and the area which is called Meijendel - an area that is also great for cycling around in. From the viewpoint, you can see the water tower and the satellite. Lastly, you can see the buildings of Scheveningen and The Hague (all the way to the towers near the central station).
The viewpoint is accessible by foot via the parking lot next to the final stop "Zwarte Pad" of trams 1 and 9. On one side there is a winding path uphill and on the other side, there is a flight of stairs. The tower currently houses weather-detecting equipment, but it originates from the Second World War and it once was a place where they tried to spot enemy planes. So again, there is a nice history to this place.
