"I can feel infinitely alive curled up on the sofa reading a book." – Benedict Cumberbatch. I can feel infinitely alive sitting in the book cafe "Esperanza" and reading a book.
Moreover, I feel at home as this is a Russian one, and it reminds me of my beloved St.Petersburg while being in the centre of the Russafa district in the very heart of Valencia. Yes, the books are mainly in Russian, but there is a dedicated bookshelf in Spanish, French, Italian and other languages, both Russian writers and foreign ones. I was astonished to find an interesting edition of Spanish pioneers of graphic design, absolutely amazing.
It is great that the bookstore also functions as a library, you may lend for 1% of the book price per day. If you are not a reading fan, you can play board games there and even leave your child in a small kids' room. And last but not least is a nice cafe with some traditional Spanish snacks but primarily Russian cuisine. You order directly online in the cafe, and your order is served very quickly at your table. If you want to do a trip across the boarders without leaving Valencia, just come to Esperanza cafe literario.
