Turia River used to have a different path through the city many years ago. Currently, though, instead of water there is a huge park/garden called Jardín del Turia (since 1986), which runs through a large part of Valencia. Many bridges have remained where they used to be, but the Flowers Bridge (or Puente de las Flores in Spanish) was built more recently, in 2002.
Flowers are displayed on the sidewalk all year long, making it a beautiful and original walk that no other bridge in Valencia can offer. I say it is cool to visit them all, but this one is a fascinating experience not just for the beautiful sight but also for the smell. Flowers are changed and rearranged a few times a year, meaning that no matter the season, Pont de les Flors will always look as you can see in the picture. Even more beautiful to me because of the palm trees surrounding it.
Here is what you can do: start walking through the bridge and get that first impression right. But then, do a walking tour in the garden (Jardín del Turia) from any other spot, and finish by this bridge at sunset. Then, look up to enjoy the flowers, the palm trees, and the buildings nearby with the warm city light at the end of the day. You will love it, for sure!
