Every now and then, I like walking around the old quarter, stepping the main streets with plenty of tourists, or just taking the alleys that only locals know. Just behind the Cathedral, in the heart of Valencia, you can find a calm pedestrian square where a boutique painted in red, with a big awning and plenty of stuff outside, catches your eye.
When you go inside, you may think that you are travelling back in time: traditional pottery from our grandmother's kitchens, wicker baskets that remind us of the countryside, pencils and notebooks from our childhood at school, colognes that our grandfathers used after shaving or toys in wood or metal from the early nineteenth century are just examples of what you can buy in this particular shop. All kinds of items for personal use or the house (clothes, traditional sandals, deco). It's really difficult to choose only one!! Simple Boutique claims the simplicity of things that belong to a not-so-far past that we sometimes miss.
