When I feel like channelling my inner Carrie Bradshaw, I head to Wine Gallery, a chic and sophisticated wine bar located in Russafa that combines the sophistication of a wine bar and the creativity of an art gallery.
The trendy interior features an open layout with small tables as well as a large wooden table for big groups or a mix of smaller groups. The walls feature pieces from local artists that are available for purchase or simply to be admired.
The servers are super friendly, well-versed in the different wines, and always happy to give recommendations. If you're feeling peckish, the bar serves cold and warm tapas to share--I particularly loved the tomato ceviche. Wine Gallery also offers "tapas en lata," or tinned fish.
It’s easy to spend a few hours here with friends, chatting about life over a few glasses of wine. For groups, I recommend buying a bottle for more bang for your buck. The bar is open every day of the week, but since they don’t take reservations, it’s best to arrive early in the evening if you’re with a large group. Check out their Instagram—it’s as cool as the bar itself!
